National retailer supports StemcellScousers

Formby based Stemcellscousers have teamed up with national retailer Edinburgh Woollen Mill to hold a series of Fashion Shows across the North West. The first being at Edinburgh Woollen Mill’s Formby store on Thursday 26th. April. To be followed by their franchised store within a store at Southport Dobbies due to open in late summer. But prior to that there will be shows at the Speke and Preston Dobbies where Edingburgh Woollen Mill also have franchise’s.

Lesley Olive the regional manager for Edinburgh Woollen Mill said “ As company we like to support local communities and charities and are really impressed by Kevin Dunne and his STEMCELLSCOUSERS group for the incredible work they do supporting the Anthony Nolan and DKMS.org Blood Cancer Charities, raising awareness and recruiting StemCell Donors. We are very proud to be supporting the StemCellScousers” The event at our Formby Store will be in aid of Anthony Nolan. We will be offering a 20% Discount on all clothing and homeware ranges and holding a raffle with the Star Prize being a signed Match Ball from Everton Football Club. A large number of Formby businesses are also supporting the StemCellScousers with prizes of free meals for two, hairdressing, jewellery, and other gift packs. Raffle tickets are priced at £2.each or three for £5.

Kevin set up StemCellScousers 2015 after Anthony Nolan found a StemCell donor to treat his wife’s Leukaemia. Then Kevin was called upon to donate his StemCells to save his own brothers life. Both have now recovered really well following their StemCell Transplants Lawrie Mallyon from Anthony Nolan said we are a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with Blood Cancer. Every day we use our register to match three remarkable people willing to Donate their Blood Stem Cells to people who desperately need a Lifesaving Transplant We were very proud to recognise Kevin at our annual Supporter Awards in November. Kevin really does go above and beyond in his efforts to support Anthony Nolan by tirelessly raising both awareness and funds in his local community.

StemCellScousers are now supported by Sefton Central MP Bill Esterson who has vowed to join the StemCell donor register in a bid to raise awareness for this life saving act.

StemCellScousers are appealing for more Volunteers to help with the fashion show. Would anyone like to be a model or just organise a group of friends for a fun evening out

Entrance is by ticket at £2 per person and TESCO FORMBY are supporting the evening with welcome drinks and there will also be nibbles.

Advance Tickets can be bought from Edinburgh Woollen Mill on Chapel lane Formby, or by contacting Kevin Dunne by email > kevindunne2@googlemail.com and by direct message on twitter #STEMCELLSCOUSERS @Dunne2Kev Kevin wants to say a MASSIVE thanks to all the Formby business’s (two many to mention in this article) for their fantastic support for Anthony Nolan.

StemCellScousers recruited 296 new StemCell donors to the register last year and would like to make it at least 500 this year.
