Formby Squirrels Rotary Club presented John Ensor, from Formby Carers Group, with a cheque for £1,000.00 at their meeting in The Grapes on Thursday 11th

May. The Squirrels were delighted to be able to support this local Charity once again as it does such vital work in our community. John Ensor explained that if you are a Carer and want a break from the routine and a friendly shoulder to lean on and someone to talk to then please feel free to join our group which meets weekly at Formby Methodist Church on Fridays from 2.00pm until 4.00pm. We are an informal group which has sought to help both the Carers and Cared For over a number of years. Many close friendships with others in similar situations have been formed and members have found those invaluable in being able to deal with the difficult situation of Caring for someone close.

We share, socilaise and talk over a cup of tea and cakes and with the help of Formby Squirrels Rotary club are able to put on various outings and special events throughout the year for the enjoyment of all our members. Formby Squirrels Rotary meet at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of each month at The Grapes, Formby and hold a social event at various locations every fourth Thursday.
