National Trust will shorty be taking over part of the Formby Coastline from Sefton Council
The National Trust will soon be taking over a large area of the Formby Coastline from Sefton Council.
In total, there are 204 hectares which are being gifted to the trust as they will be maintaining and developing it as a visitor attraction.
Because it is a popular location for both tourists as well as local people, there may be a new visitor centre as well as more parking spaces being built. This will prevent the long traffic jams which block up Victoria Road due to the existing car park usually being full.
A report prepared for the council’s cabinet said that the council generates £68,000 each year from the use of the car park.
