Lifesaver Kevin Dunne says thank you to Formby residents
Lifesaver Kevin Dunne says Thankyou to Formby residents who donated a fantastic £1.325.00 to the STEMCELLSCOUSERS £100k Anthony Nolan Blood Cancer Appeal. This will enable 26 new Stemcell donars to be recruited.
Kevin said: "I would like to gives a vote of Massive Appreciation to the 72 Formby Businesses who supported the two day event on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th MAY with very generous Raffle prizes and in particular CD Construction who built the stand for us and provided two volunteers who worked all day on the Saturday."
"I would like to thank Juliet Knight who organised the table sale and also worked all day,
Councillor Denise Dutton and newly elected Parish Councillor Gemma Peace who also continually helped the Stemcellscousers with a social media campaign which lasted two months and a Donor was found in Brazil Nikki and the team at Formby Tesco who helped to raise £457.31 on the Friday 5th May."
Kevin went on to say: "A huge thank you to all the other volunteers who gave us their time including Oliver Whitaker the secretary of Formby Rotary and Shelia Mawdsley."
Formby Squirrels Rotary said: "Our table sale raised £866.78 and was a fantastic result by
the residents of Formby."
Kevin would like to appeal for more Volunteers to help for just 3 hours per month with his life saving work in conjunction with Anthony Nolan and DKMS.org (defeat blood cancers UK) and the Stem Cell Transplant at the ROYAL LIVERPOOL HOSPITAL who have patients who are trying to find a STEM CELL DONOR to save their lives.
