Sand clearing session on the Boardwalk in Formby went well but more volunteers are needed
A sand clearing session of the boardwalk leading to Formby beach by Lifeboat Road car park in Formby took place on Friday 27th January. Cllr Denise Dutton spent the morning with other volunteers and rangers, giving up their own free time to make access to the beach easier for people in wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or parents with pushchairs etc.
Denise said: "It was very chilly but, the sand needs to be cleared from the boardwalk on a regular basis to make the beach accessible for people with mobility problems."
As well as sand clearance, Sefton Rangers also organise a littler pick around Lifeboat Road car park. Anyone who can spare 30 minutes (or longer) to help make the boardwalk more accessible for everyone will be most welcome on any future events.
If anybody can spare any time to help, please ring Gordon White on 0151 934 2967 or email him on gordon.white@sefton.gov.uk
