Talk at Formby Library with writer Ann Oakes.
There is a talk on Tuesday 10th January 2017 at Formby Library with writer Ann Oakes (aka Ann Crowther) as she narrates the story of her grandfather's experiences with the Worcestershire Regiment, first in an attempt to free Ypres and then in Gallipoli, where he was fatally wounded.
Much of the account will be told through Charles Crowther's letters home and through several of Ann's recently published poems inspired by them. The reader is poet and writer Ian Bradley Marshall who worked closely with Ann in editing her recent model.
