The last post for the Formby Scouts Christmas Post is on the 17th December at 5pm
Formby Scouts have been running the Formby Scout CHRISTMAS Post for the last 34 years in Formby and it is our principal fund raising activity. A proportion of what is raised goes to local charitable causes each year. The post boxes are in the local shops, who volunteer to help us, from the last Friday in November, along with the Scout Stamps, which are also available from our stall in the village.
A list of the participating shops can be found below. The co-ordination of the collections, sorting of cards and the house to house deliveries are carried out by Scout, Cub and Beaver children, accompanied by their parents and volunteers from Holy Trinity church and other friends in the Formby, Freshfield and Hightown community.
Our deliveries are to Formby, Freshfield, Hightown, Ince Blundell and the Altcar area (although one year we did receive post for Johannesburg!). i must emphasize that this is a Scout run post and it has no connection what so ever with the Royal Mail, and cards with Scout stamps on should not be put in to Royal Mail boxes, nor Royal Mails stamps used on Scout cards.
you can buy our stamps for 25p and we post the cards for you. last post is 17th December at 5pm. deliveries to Formby, Freshfield, Gt altcar, Little alt car, Hightown and Ince Blundell.
