Formby Junior Sports Club - Franks report 31st October
Six Formby Junior Sports Club Representative teams are top or joint top of their respective divisions after the first two months of the season.
The high-flying teams are FJSC Under 13 Whites, FJSC Under 14 United, FJSC Under 14 Blacks, FJSC Under 15 Girls, FJSC Under 15 Boys and FJSC Under 18 Blacks.
LEAGUE LEADERS
It has been a busy couple of weeks for all the Representative teams. FJSC Under 13 Whites have had two big wins against Phoenix and Redgate Yellow. Tom Harrison, Jake Alker, Tom Elder, Oscar Thompson, Jack Lemans, Dan Griffin, Harry Forsyth, George Forsyth, David Meadow and Jaime Ditchfield have all been on the scoresheet.
There were comprehensive victories for FJSC Under 14 United in the matches against Churchtown Athletic and Mitch Green in the Premier Division. The highlight was Joe McElhinney’s four goals against Churchtown and Gerard Casterton’s hat trick against Mitch Green. Also chipping in with important goals were Sean Jones, Josh Smith and Cameron Sergison.
In the FJSC Under 14 Championship Division the Blacks won against Phoenix and Formby Athletic. Lewis Constable scored hat tricks in both matches. Also scoring a hat trick each were Callum Richmond and Max Cowen-Carr. Matthew Grand and James Cunningham also scored.
FJSC Under 15 Girls won 3-1 against Fillies with leading scorer Anna Rutherford bagging all three goals. The Girls’ team also defeated nearest rivals Euxton Girls by the same scoreline. Anna Rutherford adding two more to her tally and Nina Macy was also on target.
Owen Highton led the way with a hat trick as FJSC Under 15’s won against Redgate Rovers. Pedro Gomes, Patrick Dutton, Max Sumner, Matthew Carragher and Josh Birley were also amongst the goals.
FJSC Under 18 Blacks gained six points by winning against FJSC Under 18 Whites and FJSC Under 18’s.
It is early days for these six leading teams but what a great start they have all made.
RECENT BOYS’ REPRESESENTATIVE MATCHES
FJSC Under 12 Whites won 4-1 against Phoenix Aces with goals from Rylie Read, Lucas Foster, Paul Lally and Conor Leyland. FJSC Under 12 Blacks drew 3-3 with Ormskirk. Sam Cousens and Steven Mordaunt scored. The Blacks also enjoyed two friendly matches against Town Green and FJSC Whites. Sonny Carroll, Tobias Firth-Griffiths, Dan King, Sam Cousens, Callum Davidson, Andrew Kimmance, Paul Lally and Conor Leyland all scored.
FJSC Under 13 Blacks played extremely well but lost 3-2 to Redgate Yellow and 4-1 to Southport Whites. Kieran Hall and George Pendleton with a twenty-five yard shot were on the scoresheet.
GIRLS’ MATCHES
Following a big win against Fleetwood, FJSC Under 17 Girls hit seven against Wigan Athletic and also kept a clean sheet. Alivia Hutchinson scored a hat trick and there was one goal each for Molly Barton, Tamzin Elliot, Rhianna Meehan and Caitlin MacBeth. This was followed by an unlucky 1 nil defeat by league leaders St Helens. Despite losing it was probably the team’s best display of the season.
FJSC Under 14 Girls won back to back matches – 1 nil against Wigan Athletic and 2-1 at Town Green and also drew 2-2 with Euxton Girls. Lily Hamilton scored in each match. Ella Lawson also scored in two of the matches. FJSC Under 13 Jets played well but lost 4 nil to Churchtown.
Alex Murphy-Worrell and Lily Hall scored the goals in FJSC Under 12 Rangers exciting 2-2 draw with Crosby Stuart. Hannah Allmark scored the winner as FJSC Under 12 United won a very close match with Hesketh Colts. Jasmin Stevens scored all four goals for FJSC Under 11 Real’s good performance against Rainford Rangers. Jess Lynch was the provider for most of the goals.
FJSC Under 10 Hotspurs played well in the match with Litherland Remyca. Sarah Allmark, Ellie Todino, Bo Price and Neve Thornton scored the goals in a very good team display. FJSC Under 9 Atletico played well against Town Green with Grace Rooney and Olivia Ball scoring.
ROUND UP OF THE YOUNGER REP. TEAMS
FJSC Under 7 Blacks had two good results in their recent matches with Max McBride, Archie Beckett, Anton Coyne, Raffy Davies and Lewis Forsyth amongst the goals. FJSC Under 8 Whites have also played well in the recent fixtures with Town Green and Redgate Yellow. The goalscorers in these matches were Finlay Hunter, Joe Hughes, Connor Daulby, Dilan Sathiyanathan, Ivan Weights and Luke Lewis.
FJSC Under 8 Blacks have had two exciting matches with Redgate Yellow and Crosby Stuart. Finley Richards scored the goals in both matches with Micky Denison playing well in defence. Finn Bauer scored all the goals for FJSC Under 8 Rangers in the encounter with Southport Trinity. FJSC Under 9’s have played well in their three matches against Town Green, Southport Trinity and Redgate Black. Josh Kenn, Gabe Bellemey, Jamie Simpson and Lewis Parker have all been on target. Goalkeepers Charlie Lynch and Ben Murphy have played well, making important saves.
FJSC Under 10 Blacks gained confidence with a much- improved performances against Southport Trinity Blue, Redgate Green and Birkdale. Jack Yarwood, Sam Mycek, Dominic Hamilton, Oliver Mercer, Oliver Charnock and Dylan Riley were all marksmen in these matches.
FJSC Under 11 Whites played some excellent football against Redgate Green. There were goals from Steven Mordaunt, Matteo Heaney and Luke Honour plus two inch perfect assists from Jack Rummens. In the previous match against Town Green there were good displays from Bobby Hersey and Ellis Parry. FJSC Under 11 Blacks are also hitting a good run of form. This has been seen in recent fixtures with S. and A. Blue and Redgate Black. Harry Knowles, Tom Rimmer, Jacob Lewis, Ben Hough, Anthony Webb and Henry Leeson have all been scorers.
INTER CLUB SECTION
As expected numbers were much lower than usual last Saturday due to half term holidays. However the one hundred and ninety children who were at Deansgate Lane thoroughly enjoyed the coaching and matches.
