Reports Of Disorder - West Street, Southport

Merseyside Police detectives have launched an investigation after reports of disorder in Southport in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 18 September.

At 2.30am, members of the public reported fighting between several men in the West Street area, believed to be around the Kahiki Bar.

Police and the ambulance service attended the location and five people were found with minor injuries, some of whom are initially believed to have been innocent bystanders. No person hurt required hospital treatment.

Extensive enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances and identify the perpetrators. CCTV from West Street is being examined by detectives today and any witnesses to this incident are urged to contact police at the earliest opportunity.
