The man, believed to be in his 80s, was trying to cross Ince Lane when he was hit by a red Mini Cooper

A pensioner was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Ince Lane.
The man, who is believed to be in his 80s, was crossing Ince Lane at around 1.10pm today (September 11) when he was hit by a red Mini Cooper.
North West Ambulance Service confirmed they sent an appliance to the scene and that the man was taken to Aintree University Hospital.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the man’s injuries were not life threatening and believed he had injured his hip and had swelling to his head.
The road was closed for about an hour causing traffic jams and mayhem with traffic being diverted to Little Crosby and through Lunt but, the scene has now been cleared.
