Five casualties stuck in mud on Formby Beach

Five people got into difficulty in the mud on Formby Beach. The Southport Lifeboat were called to make a rescue. They were told there were five casualties in difficulty in the mud on Formby Beach towards Altcar.

The call-out came in on Saturday (22nd August) at 6:57pm.

Southport Lifeboat proceeded to the launch site on the quads with full Mud Rescue Kit but, when they got there, the casualities had managed to free themselves from the mud. They were all confirmed as safe by Crosby Coastguard Rescue Team at approximately 7:15pm

Southport Coastguard Rescue Team were also in attendance.
