Hop & Horn opens tonight at 4pm

The Hop & Horn Bar and Grill hosted its VIP night last night and it was a huge success. Hoards of VIPs turned up to champagne on arrival, a complimentary bar till 9pm, food and live music till late. What a fantastic night.

What was once the Haro Lounge, has now been transformed into this high class bar that is amazing. The work and effort that has been put in by three friends who started their dream on a beer mat has paid off tenfold. The walls are painted in a Hop green that will totally wow everyone and a muriel in the upper bar area is outstanding.

The Hop & Horn is open to the public from tonight at 4pm. Their restaurant manager, Spencer McBride has been in the industry for over 25 years and believes the restaurant is set to be a big hit. He said: “This is the fifth restaurant I have managed and I just love it.

“It looks really good inside and the food coming out of the kitchen is phenomenal.

“There is also an extensive wine list, and cask ales and beers on offer, and we also have our own brew, the Hop & Horn pale ale.”

The idea for the restaurant came from three friends, Sean, Tony and Martin, over a pint and they thought they could create somewhere that encompassed everything they wanted from a bar and restaurant.

As well as beer and burgers, the restaurant will also offer a brunch menu, host live entertainment upstairs and an extensive cocktail menu, including a suspicious jalapeño and passion fruit mix.

Sean Gallagher, Co-Founder of the Hop & Horn , said: “Our aim is to provide a new entertainment hub in the Village for the local community following the closures of the Haro Lounge and The Gallery.

"There is definitely a gap for what we are trying to do. We are working with local suppliers and an exciting chef to deliver a fast-casual dining experience offering gourmet burgers, piri piri style chicken and indulgent brunches that you would normally have to travel in to Liverpool or Manchester for.

"The completely remodelled upstairs space will host a calendar of events including weekly live music, sports and comedy and be available for private functions.

"At the crux of it all though is a desire to create somewhere new and different for the local community to come and dine as a family or enjoy a night out in a group of friends.”
