Travel information for the Three Queens tomorrow

Monday May 25
To ensure crowds are managed safely and passengers have an enjoyable travel experience, access to city centre stations will be restricted at key times:
From 1pm all Northern Line trains will not stop at Liverpool Central station. All Northern Line passengers must use Moorfields station.
From 1pm James Street station will close. Wirral line passengers can use Liverpool Central or Lime Street low level station.
The Wirral line platform at Moorfields station will remain closed for refurbishment during the entire Three Queens event.
To accommodate the large crowds expected to travel, the following changes will be made to the Merseyrail timetable:
All trains on the Northern Line will run at a 20 minute frequency from start to end of service.
Trains on the Wirral line will run every 15 minutes between 7am and 7pm and every 30 minutes outside these times.
A rail replacement bus will run between Ellesmere Port & Hooton. This adjustment means six car trains can run at points on the Merseyrail network where large crowds are expected.
Passengers are advised to plan their journey and to allow extra time for travelling.
For more information on the 3 Queens schedule click here.
You can use the website Journey Planner, see travel information at your nearest Merseyrail station in the run up to the event, download the Merseyrail app or follow @merseyrail on Twitter for live travel information.
Some of the events during the Three Queens weekend will finish late which means significant demand for transport services from 10pm. Don’t leave it too late – allow time to get to the station and for there to be queues when you arrive there. Consider what your alternative options may be in getting home.

Can you go on board the ships?
The three ships will all be together on Bank Holiday Monday only.
Lots of readers have asked if they will be able to go on board the ships to take a look around.
Sadly, the short answer is no.
According to organisers, members of the public will not be permitted to visit any of the Cunard Queens due to Maritime Security Regulations.
Cunard has organised some special ‘invitation only’ official visits, however these have already been finalised so it isn’t possible to apply for a place.
Spectators are also reminded that they will not be able to access the berth area of the Liverpool Cruise Terminal, as this is a restricted area for passengers, crew and invited ship visitors only.
However the three liners will be still be a spectacular sight from the water’s edge.
Where will the ships go after the event?
After the event on Monday, the QM2 will sail down the river and head south towards Guernsey while the Queen Elizabeth will weigh anchor after fireworks at 10.30pm, and the Queen Victoria will remain in the river until Tuesday.
There is also a chance to see fireworks on Monday night at 10.30pm. Ahead of that, a specially-commissioned lightshow, Amazing Graces, will be projected on to the Three Graces at 10pm.

Cunard is celebrating its 175th anniversary with two major events this summer.
The Queen Mary 2 will return to the company's birthplace and spiritual home in July to re-enact the first Cunard transatlantic crossing, made by the Britannia on July 4, 1840.
