It's Messy Church time at St John's Church in Ainsdale, Southport, this Saturday, May 16

It's Messy Church time at St John's Church in Ainsdale, Southport, this Saturday, May 16, from 4 to 6pm in the church hall.
A spokesman said: "Messy Church is church as you’ve never seen it before – glue, glitter and God! Messy Church is about families coming together to learn about God in a fun, active, crafty and messy way.
"Each time we have a theme which we explore through nine or ten different craft activities, maybe making something to take home with you, or creating a group piece of art, or making something to eat later, usually there is at least one very messy activity – that’s usually where you’ll find our Vicar, Graham!"
All are welcome.

Saturday 16th May, Southport Sailing Club will be hosting our annual club open day. As has been the case for the last few years this coincides with the RYA push the boat out initiative – to nationally get people on the water and interested in sailing!
Starting at 10:30 we will be throwing our doors open to the public to showcase our club and the sport of sailing. Everyone is welcome, from complete novices through to experienced sailors looking for a new club. We will have members on hand to chat to guests, talk them through what the club offers and numerous club boats on hand for people to try their hand at sailing. For members and those already able to sail we are running a ‘Beat the Stig’ competition for the fastest lap of the north island, with the fabulous prize of a bar of chocolate for the best time. If you wish to go on the water either with a club member or in a topper, there will be a small charge to cover kit hire and insurance. We will also be suspending the joining fee for anyone who becomes a member on the day.
So if you are interested in finding out about Southport Sailing Club, no matter what your ability we would love to see you on the 16th May at 10:30. If you have any questions please email: webteam@southportsailingclub.org.uk or visit www.southportsailingclub.org.uk.
