Welcome to Formby Bubble® — a place to share local news, events, lost and found, and community stories.
We want this to be a safe, respectful, and helpful space for everyone in Formby.

By using Formby Bubble (website, app, or social media), you agree to follow these guidelines.

✅ Do’s

• Be respectful: Debate ideas, not people. Treat others as you’d like to be treated.

• Share helpful information: Local news, events, recommendations, lost and found.

• Credit sources: Always give credit to photographers, creators, and original sources.

• Protect privacy: Ask permission before posting identifiable images of others.

• Stay accurate: Double-check details before posting news or appeals.

🚫 Don’ts

• Harass, abuse, or threaten others.

• Post discriminatory or hateful content (including race, religion, gender, disability, or age).

• Post scams, misleading fundraising, or unverified appeals.

• Share private details (addresses, phone numbers, ID documents) without consent.

• Spread false rumours or speculation, especially about crime or emergencies.

• Upload illegal, explicit, or harmful material.

📌 Appeals & Fundraising

We welcome genuine community appeals — but to protect against scams we need proof:

• Schools/charities: Provide the organisation name and an official email or charity registration number.

• Personal fundraisers: Provide a verifiable JustGiving/GoFundMe link and a clear explanation.

• Appeals without verification will not be published.

🐾 Lost & Found

• Include clear photos and when/where the item or pet was lost/found.

• For valuables/ID cards: the claimant must confirm a unique detail before collection.

• Posts automatically expire after 30 days unless extended.

🚨 Missing People, Emergencies & Police Activity

• Posts must include essential details (last seen, description, contact instructions).

• Where possible, include a police log number or official source link.

• We prioritise urgent safety posts — but avoid speculation until verified.

🛠 Moderation

Formby Bubble may edit, hide, or remove posts/comments that break these rules.

• Statuses: New posts may be set as Pending until approved.

• Reports: Any user can report content they believe breaches these guidelines.

• Consequences: Repeated or serious violations may result in warnings, muted accounts, or permanent bans.

To help build trust, we may display badges on profiles:

• ✅ Verified Trader

• 🏡 Local Resident

• 🔧 Moderator

These badges show that an account has been verified by Formby Bubble.

⚖️ Legal & Safety

• Do not post content that breaks the law.

• Respect copyright and trademarks.

• For emergencies, always call 999. Formby Bubble is not a substitute for emergency services.
