Police descend on old nightclub site after a gang of men fight with baseball bats and other weapons

Police were called to the abandoned nightclub, Shorrocks Hill around 4pm yesterday afternoon, Monday 5th December, after reports of a gang of men fighting in the car park with baseball bats.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: “There was a fight between a group of men at an abandoned car park in Formby around 4pm. The men were armed with baseball bats and other weapons.”

“A cordon was put in place, mainly surrounding the carpark of the former nightclub on Lifeboat Road and detectives began their investigations. They later arrested two men, aged 30 and 32, from the #Formby area, on suspicion of affray.”

The car park remained closed off for hours later with a strong police presence.
