Freshfield Surgery is under threat of closure, please sign the petition to keep it open
Freshfield Surgery is under threat of closure and needs your help to keep it open. NHS England are due to commence a formal 13 week consultation to decide on the future of Freshfield Surgery. Patients will soon be contacted, invited to take part in the consultation & asked to share their views.
The current contract at the practice is an interim arrangement that was put in place to maintain high quality primary care services while NHS England plan the future of the surgery. This contract expires on 31st December 2017 and means that a decision will have to be made soon.
Martin Hough from Ryders Chemist is asking people to take action to keep GP services in Freshfield. He has written an open letter to Mr Anthony Leo - Director of Commissioning, NHS England (Cheshire and Merseyside) and is asking people to support it.
Martin said: "Freshfield Surgery is under threat. If you value the surgery, please take action to make sure that you keep it. The surgery plays a vital role in the provision of healthcare to our community and we must keep it at its present site as ease of access is especially important to our elderly residents.”

Martin went on to say: “By signing the petition we can make our voices heard and if enough of us speak up then hopefully we can secure GP services in Freshfield for the foreseeable future.”

Dear Mr Leo,
We, the undersigned, request that Freshfield Surgery remains open as a fully-functioning GP surgery. We believe that the surgery plays a vital role in the provision of healthcare to our community & that ease of access is especially important to our elderly residents. We request that GP services will still be available beyond December 2017 at its current site to provide healthcare to residents of Freshfield.
