Roses are Red by Denise Jones
Roses are red, Violets are blue, I’d love a Valentine’s card from you Despite our disastrous blind date start I’d really love to give you my heart
You’re so beautiful; I’m such a dork, So nervous that night I could hardly talk It didn’t quite go according to plan Not your idea of a macho man
Can’t help my twitch, get nervous you see Wondered why that waiter kept winking at me Your face was a picture when my toupee fell off Straight into your bowl of lovely Scotch broth
You weren’t impressed with my bright blue flares I must admit we did get quite a few stares I know I scared you half to death But it hurt when you called me Garlic breath!
Romance and I don’t go together My conversation is only the weather Spilling red wine all over your dress Was not a good way for me to impress
After the meal, we went for a walk I thought it would give us chance to talk Tripped over the kerb, you caught me in time I shouldn’t have had that last glass of wine
My train spotting hobby was not your thing You prefer Jimmy Choo’s or big diamond ring Don’t think I’ll find a Valentine now Just wish I knew the who, where and how
You’ve closed your Facebook and tweet no more Never answer when I knock at your door I assume no chance of a second date then? I heard you’ve run off with a boy called Ben
But I’ll keep looking for that special someone Who loves me for me, like my dear old Mum But on this romantic fourteenth of Feb Looks like cocoa for me and early to bed!!
