Quad biker taken to hospital with serious injuries

Police received a call at 7:30 yesterday evening reporting a Quad bike accident on the beach between Formby and Ainsdale.

The call stated that the accident had occurred about 20 minutes walk from the Victoria Road access to the beach.

Unfortunately the incident was not as close to this location as originally thought and due to the difficulty of reaching the casualties, along with being mindful of tidal turns, the emergency services decided that rather than go north they would relocate to Ainsdale beach and reach the incident by going southwards.

Two casualties were reported, one with a slight injury and one man with seriously injuries was taken to Fazakerley Hospital.
