New Garden Library opens soon
Formby Library is almost ready to open the doors of a new garden and outdoor reading area thanks to funding from the Parish Council.
The final stages of a new garden installation are being completed and visitors to the library will soon be able to sit outside and enjoy the benefits of the unique landscaping project.
Formby Parish Council have been working closely with Sefton Council's Parks and Greenspaces team and Library Service to turn the previously unused outdoor space into a growing zone, sensory planted area, story teller area, discovery zone and mini meadow.
Formby Parish Council came up with the idea to landscape the waste land at the rear of the library following the refurbishment of the library building. As well as part funding the project, they also secured grants to pay for the works.
A special opening ceremony will be held later this month to officially launch the facilities. More details will be announced in the next few weeks
