Southport Cruisers Annual Easter Egg Run to Formby children's home
The Southport Cruisers did their annual Easter run on Sunday 20 March to Formby's childrens home, Clumber Lodge.
This year 54 bikes took part with about 74 riders and pillion passengers in total. A whopping £422 was raised and and an estimated 14kg of eggs and sweets were delivered to the children.
This year The Southport Cruisers were joined by three other bike clubs from the Southport area - Rockerbox, BAT - Bikes and Trikes and Daisy Chain.
The Cruisers also do the Christmas run when they donate toys and money to the Formby childrens home.
The impressive parade drives through Formby Village beeping horns and flashing lights and then continues to Victoria Road to the childrens home.
This is a great event when you see so many bikers drive through our Bubble to take donations of Easter eggs to the children who otherwise might not receive any eggs at Easter.
Spokesperson for the Southport Cruisers, Peter Robinson said: “Many thanks to all the bikers who turned out on a cold Sunday morning to support the event.
“It was an incredible occasion and it is so heartwarming to be able to see how much joy we spread by doing this. We raised £442 for Clumber Lodge and handed over at least 14kg of eggs and sweets.”
All bikers are welcome to join them, they meet up every year at 11am at the Sands in Ainsdale and ride through Southport Town centre before heading back to Formby.
The Easter run is held usually the last Sunday before Easter.
Formby Bubble would like to wish all the kids at the Clumber Lodge Childrens Home a very Happy Easter and also say thanks to the Southport Cruisers for all the money, toys and eggs they give every year.
