Road Traffic Collision between a bus and a car in Formby

Liverpool Road in Formby was closed this morning after a collision between a bus and a car during rush hour. Police were called to the accident near to Sports Direct just before 8.44am.

Two men suffered minor injuries in the collision, which involved was a Ford C-MAX. It is not known if any passengers were on board the bus.

Bus company Arriva said the crash had caused delays to services between Southport and Liverpool.

Liverpool Road was closed between Altcar Lane and Ravenmeols Lane, near Sports Direct between Formby bypass and Formby town centre both ways.

The road was open again by 11:30am.
