Two Males charged with theft of a car in Ainsdale....

On 10th July 2014 in Chapel Lane, Formby a male was seen in suspicious circumstances going up and down driveways of houses. He was seen to take a bike from a driveway and place it into the rear of the van he was driving. The suspect was challenged by the owner and the pedal bike was returned to him.

The complainant reported the matter to the police a short time later, providing a description of the suspect and the offenders vehicle. A search of the area by officers resulted in the van being stopped on Formby Bypass and the driver subsequently being arrested.

Later that day the suspect was charged with the theft and bailed to appeared before Sefton Magistrates Court.

Mr Edmund Price aged 35 years was later found guilty by the court and received a fine & costs.
