Male Akita Dog found in Sand Dunes

This dog was found this morning. He is an Akita type, neutered male. He was found in the sand dunes in Ainsdale. He was taken to Southport Surgery of Rufford Veterinary practice this morning. (Monday 30th) This is what they have said.... He is in a very sorry state. He has obviously been owned at some point in his life. He looks to be quite old and incontinent and also very skinny. He has had a nice warm bath and is tucked up with a blanket and a hot water. He is here at the Southport surgery but we need to see if he has owners as soon as possible, we are suspicious he may have been abandoned. No collar or chip. Update from an hour ago from Rufford Vets: An update on this little chap. He has had some food and water, he has had a bath and we are going to run a few tests to assess his health. He is a little bit stiff on his hind legs so he will be receiving pain relief for this. We will continue to look for his owners and he will be staying with us for some much needed tlc.
